About Kathleen
Kathleen Harkins, principal of Harkins Associates, draws upon twenty-five years of experience in medical and healthcare sales & marketing. She also works extensively with technology and manufacturing companies that sell to the healthcare industry.
Prior to establishing a consulting practice in 1997, Ms. Harkins was employed as Chief Marketing Officer for Internet Healthcare System, a managed provider organization of healthcare services and products. She served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Westmeade HealthCare, Inc. In these capacities, Ms. Harkins was responsible for the sales organization, new product launch and marketing strategy. From 1983 to 1988, Ms. Harkins served as Director of Marketing for MEDIQ Consulting Group and as Director of Corporate Brand Identity for the parent, MEDIQ Incorporated, which held 15 subsidiary companies serving the healthcare industry. Ms. Harkins worked in the pharmaceutical industry for a number of years in sales, sales training and marketing.
Ms. Harkins has lectured throughout the US, conducted seminars for the American Marketing Association-Academy for Health Services Marketing and the American Hospital Association - Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing, The Forum For Healthcare Strategists and has taught at the Wharton School Small Business Center. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Marketing Consortium in Philadelphia, is a member of the American Hospital Association, Society of Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, and the American Society for Training and Development. Ms. Harkins has a BA degree in health education from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.
